If you really have too few vacation leaves, then you have to make do and still try to see as much of the country as you can. Follow this 10-day Italy itinerary and the highlights of every city to help you plan your trip.

  • Trajan Forum and Trajan’s Market ruins
  • The Colosseum
  • Roman Forum and Palatine Hill
  • Circus Maximus
  • Vatican City (St. Peter’s Basilica and Vatican Museums)
  • Castel Sant Angelo
  • Spanish Steps

  • Pantheon
  • Capitoline Museums
  • Tiber Island

If you manage to get some more time to stay in Italy, there are so many other cities to check out.

  • Naples: Known for being the home of pizza, it is the jump-off point to visit Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, as well as the Amalfi Coast and Positano.
  • Bologna: This can also be a day trip from Florence but to appreciate the city fully, you should stay longer.
  • Sicily: The southern part of Italy is different and this is where you go to enjoy the beach. There is also Mt. Etna, as well as other historic cities.

The different corners of Italy deserve a visit because it is such a diverse country. While time may not always permit a longer stay to unravel all of its beautiful cities, you can already see quite a bit during a 10-day stay in this country.
